With technology advancing at a rapid pace, Apple discovered a new way for users to navigate through their playlists and settings by taking away the buttons under the display and adding a click wheel.
The ipods, being the most efficient in terms of battery power, lasted 12 whole hours! The 3rd gen was 8 hours and the 2nd and 1st were 10(They had a bigger battery than the 3rd gen). They even managed to make this generation THINNER than the 3rd. It was released in July of 2004.
